Retold - Sunday School Stories You Thought You Knew - David & Goliath

NOTES:
But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The LORD who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” 1 Samuel 17:34–37 (NLT)
GIANT LESSONS
We can EXPECT to face GIANTS.
We don’t get to CHOOSE our GIANTS, only how we RESPOND.
Anyone who wants to live all out for Christ is in for a lot of trouble; there’s no getting around it. 2 Timothy 3:12 (MSG)
It takes COURAGE to fight a GIANT.
Saul was LACKING courage.
Goliath had FALSE courage.
David had TRUE courage.
This is the LORD’s battle, and he will give you to us!
1 Samuel 17:47 (NLT)
BOTTOM LINE:
There is no Goliath BIGGER than our God.
THE CHALLENGE:
Name your GOLIATH.
