To My Friend Who Left the Faith - Week Four

If God is so good, then why?

If God CAN do something, why wont He DO something?

1. GOD CAN USE YOUR PAIN.

In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faithof greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by firemay result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:67 (NIV)

2. GOD IS WITH YOU IN YOUR PAIN.

Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:89 (NIV)

3. GOD CAN BE TRUSTED.

But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. Hebrews 2:9 (NIV)

BOTTOM LINE:

A God who suffered for us is a God who cares for us.

THE CHALLENGE:

Reframe the Pain.
