No Offense - Part Five - Forgiveness
NOTES:
Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.” .
Matthew 18:21-22 (ESV)
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32 (NLT)
“Everyone thinks FORGIVENESS is a lovely idea, until they have SOMETHING to forgive.” - C.S. Lewis.
God has forgiven us of a DEBT that we ACCRUED against him that we would never be able to pay BACK.
How do I forgive?
- Thank GOD for FORGIVING you.
- Ask God: “WHO do I need to forgive, and for WHAT?”
- REPENT of your SIN of unforgiveness.
- Forgive each OFFENSE from your HEART
- SEAL it with a BLESSING.
Forgiveness is the LANGUAGE of God’s KINGDOM, and we have to learn it!
BOTTOM LINE: FORGIVE as you have been FORGIVEN.
THE CHALLENGE: Follow the STEPS.
